An update from Rattlers Director Ethan LaHoda on summer camps, Fall registration, and offseason athletic development.
Rattlers Family,
I hope everyone is having a great summer so far.
Growing the game is our passion, building great people is our mission
First off, I want to share an incredible milestone for our community: we have over 250 new players signed up for our June/July beginner Sticks & Skills programs. We have beginner camps in Erie, Broomfield, Thornton, Louisville, Superior, Longmont, and Carbon Valley, and we aren’t stopping there! Seeing this kind of growth tells us that our focus on accessible, high-quality instruction is working, and we are pushing hard behind the scenes to keep that momentum going. Please continue helping us spread lacrosse and share this link with any friends who might be interested in playing: https://rmrattlerslax.com/training/beginner-camps-summer/
We are listening to your feedback
Over the last few weeks, our leadership team has been diving deep into your recent survey responses. I want to be clear: constructive feedback helps us grow. We are actively using your input to refine our programming, elevate our coach training, and build an organization that you and your child can be proud of. You deserve a voice in your child’s development, and we are listening.
As we continue to offer lacrosse year round for all of our new and returning boys and girls players, we are working hard on our Synergy Player Pathway. Think of this as our developmental roadmap. Whether your child is picking up a stick for the first time, playing at an intermediate level, or working on advanced high-school training, this pathway ensures they are placed in the right environment. Our goal is to make sure beginner and intermediate players feel completely supported and never intimidated, while simultaneously providing the advanced, high-level curriculum our experienced players need to push their limits. The full pathway will be released soon, and we are working hard to make sure every player has a home, and no player gets left behind.
If you ever have questions about which program fits your son or daughter best, please reach out to our Rattlers Youth Director, AJ Mercurio or our girls director, Sarah Cooper. Coach Mercurio has been working hard to get to know as many players and families as possible, and is a HUGE addition to the staff.
What’s Next?
1. CP22 Pro Camp (Boys & Girls)
This is an incredible opportunity to learn from some of the absolute best minds in the game. We are thrilled to announce that Dempsey Arsenault, one of the top women’s lacrosse players in the world, will be leading the girls’ camp alongside legend Joey Spallina, Casey Powell, our Youth Director AJ Mercurio, and some of the top coaches in our area.
We’ve partnered directly with the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) for this camp. On the final day, our players will get an exclusive, on-field experience right before the pros play for their games at Peter Barton Stadium.
- Dates: July 21-24
- Best For: All players. Players will be strictly grouped by skill and experience level so that beginners feel safe and advanced players are challenged.

2. Ram Camp
A high-energy, local camp designed to keep sticks in hands and skills sharp over the summer. We keep the focus simple: maximum reps, fundamentally sound coaching, and an environment where kids love coming to the field.
- Dates: July 6–8
- Location: Fort Collins, CO
- Best For: All returning and new players looking to elevate their game this summer.

3. Northern Colorado Lacrosse League: Summer Sixes
Sixes is the fastest-growing format in the sport, and it has officially been added to the 2028 Olympic Games. While it won’t replace traditional field lacrosse, it is becoming a major piece of the global lacrosse ecosystem. Because of the smaller field and fast pace, it forces quick decision-making, accelerates IQ, and maximizes touches. It is one of the single best development tools we have, packaged in an incredibly fun, easy-access way to compete.
- Best For: Anyone with at least one Sticks & Skills clinic or a season of competitive play under their belt. Players will be grouped by skill and experience.

Offseason Athletic Performance: LGC Athletics
Lacrosse skills only go as far as your athleticism takes you. This summer and offseason, we are offering dedicated sports performance training for elementary through high school athletes at LGC with Coach Christian Backes. All of our players get a discounted membership and a free intro session!
Offseason training is a great way for players to not only level up their speed and power, but to build positive exercise habits they will carry for the rest of their lives. Coach Backes focuses on speed, acceleration, and age-appropriate strength training, and he is truly one of the best in the business.
How to Join:
Elementary Athletes: Breakaway Speed Intro Session
Middle School & High School Athletes: Intro Performance Session

Sneak Peek: Fall Lacrosse & Girls Expansion
We’ve received a ton of questions about our Fall programming. We will be officially releasing all Fall information this week, and we are pacing toward our biggest and best Fall season yet.
We are building heavily off the momentum of the Northern Colorado Lacrosse League (NCLL) from last year and anticipate even more teams being involved. Fall lacrosse is phenomenal for everyone—from players who just completed a summer clinic to our most advanced players.
- Girls Expansion: We will be officially launching our Girls Northern Colorado Lacrosse League—the first-ever youth-high school fall league for girls in Northern Colorado history. We have close to 75 new girls in our beginner programs right now, and multiple clubs interested in participating – the more support we give girls’ lacrosse in the offseason, the faster the game will grow here.
- Coming Soon (Girls Club/Travel): Due to a large amount of interest, we are currently designing a dedicated club/travel lacrosse opportunity for our girls’ players and surrounding areas We will be releasing full details on this in the coming weeks.
Coming in July: Weeknight Pickup at the Sports Stable
Starting next month, we are launching a weeknight pickup session open to everyone—players, adults, and the entire Rattlers family. These nights will feature Speed Lacrosse, open pickup games, prizes, food/drinks, and a whole lot of community. Stay tuned for dates and times.
Most of all, I am deeply grateful for your trust and support. We love coaching your kids and cannot wait to help them achieve their goals on and off the field this year.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
