Rocky Mountain Rattlers Training |
overview
Train. Play. Improve.
The Rattlers Summer Membership is designed to help newer and intermediate lacrosse players build confidence, improve their skills, and better understand the game throughout the summer.
This program provides a structured, consistent training environment where players can develop without the pressure or intensity of elite club programs. Athletes will gain real game experience, improve decision-making, and come home each day feeling more confident and engaged.
Who This Program Is For
• Intermediate players with at least one season of lacrosse experience
• Athletes not participating in club lacrosse during the summer
• Players looking to improve in a structured, supportive environment
• Multi-sport athletes who want to stay active and continue developing
• Players who want to have fun playing the game they love
What Players Will Gain
Over the course of the program, players will:
• Build confidence on the field
• Improve stick skills and core fundamentals
• Develop better decision-making in game situations
• Learn positioning, spacing, and how to move effectively
• Gain a stronger understanding of how the game is played

How the Training Works
This program is built on a simple but effective system:
Learn → Apply → Reinforce
Players first learn skills in a controlled setting, then immediately apply them in game situations, and continue reinforcing them throughout the week.
Program Structure
The program runs for 8 weeks and provides a consistent weekly training schedule that balances skill development and game application.
Weekly Schedule:

Game-based training focused on decision-making, spacing, and real-game situations.
Wednesday – Skill Lab

What Is Game Lab?
Game Lab is the core of the program, where players learn to play the game.
Instead of traditional drills, Game Lab uses structured, small-sided gameplay to teach players how to think, react, and make decisions in real time.
This approach is based on the Constraints Led Approach (CLA), which means we design games with specific rules, spacing, and situations that guide players toward the right solutions.
Rather than telling players exactly what to do, the environment is set up so they can:
- See the situation
- Make a decision
- Learn from the outcome
The game becomes the teacher.
This is effective because it mirrors how the sport is actually played. Players are constantly adjusting, reading, and responding — not just repeating movements in a drill.
During Game Lab sessions, players will:
- Learn how to space the field properly
- Understand timing and movement without the ball
- Develop awareness and decision-making under pressure
- Practice reading the game instead of just executing drills
- Gain confidence by applying skills in realistic situations
This approach helps players connect their skills to actual gameplay, which is often the missing piece for newer and intermediate athletes.
Rather than just practicing lacrosse, players learn how to play lacrosse.
